Mixmeister Pro is a pretty simple program that allows you to drop tracks together with ease. It offers the control of volume, bass & treb - as a basic mixer would - so it is very simple to get used to. It also allows you to rip to wav or wma (using direct x) files once you have put a set together. Once I have produced a wav or wma file I use a program called switch to convert to mp3.
I have used soundforge before but didn't realy give it a full go as mixmeister fell into my hands, since then not looked back!!
